Once an eyewash station has been activated it cannot be turned off. The eyewash solution will flow until the cartridges or reservoir have been emptied.
Immediately flush eyes for at least 15 minutes. Keep the eyes open and rotate the eyeballs in all directions to remove contamination from around the eyes. An injured person may need help holding the eyelids open.
The eyewash should be turned on to full strength. Allow the water to run long enough to ensure the flowing water is clear and free of debris. After water is clear, continue to run the water at full strength for an additional 30-60 seconds. Deactivate the eyewash.
